Your Chimney Works Hard. Does It Get The Care It Deserves?
Most homeowners don’t think about their chimney until something goes wrong, and by then, the damage is often costly. Your chimney is one of the hardest-working systems in your home, venting dangerous gases, controlling heat flow, and protecting your structure from fire. Neglecting it can result in a smoky living room or a full house fire.
Regular chimney cleaning and chimney inspection aren’t optional extras; they’re the baseline for safe, responsible homeownership. The Chimney Safety Institute of America (CSIA) recommends that every fireplace and chimney be inspected at least once per year, regardless of how frequently you use it. A professional chimney service catches small issues, like a cracked flue liner, a bird’s nest, or creosote buildup, before they become emergencies.
Fire Hazards
Creosote buildup is the leading cause of chimney fires in the U.S. A single chimney cleaning removes this dangerous residue before it ignites.
Smoke & CO Buildup
A blocked flue traps smoke and carbon monoxide inside your home. An annual chimney inspection ensures your venting is clear and functioning properly.
Structural Damage
Water infiltration through a cracked chimney can silently destroy masonry and framing. Timely chimney repair saves you thousands down the road.
Poor Air Quality
Soot and debris don’t stay in the flue; they circulate through your home. Fireplace cleaning and air duct cleaning restore healthy indoor air quality.

WHAT WE DO
Comprehensive Chimney Services
We’re not a one-trick operation. Sootsense Chimney Services offers the full spectrum of chimney and fireplace services that homeowners need, all under one roof, all backed by our satisfaction guarantee.
Chimney Cleaning Service
Our core offering, and the one your chimney needs every year. Our chimney cleaning service removes creosote, soot, ash, and any debris that has collected in your flue. We use professional-grade rotary brushes and HEPA-filtered vacuums so your home stays spotless during the process. Regular chimney cleaning is the single best thing you can do to prevent chimney fires.
Chimney Sweep Service
Think of our chimney sweep service as a deep cleaning with eyes. Our certified chimney sweep technicians don’t just brush out the flue; they evaluate every inch of it. From the firebox to the crown, we identify wear, obstructions, and warning signs that untrained eyes miss. It’s the thoroughness that sets our chimney sweep apart from a basic cleaning.
Chimney Repair Service
Our chimney repair service handles everything from cracked crowns and spalling bricks to damaged flue liners and failed mortar joints. We use materials rated for high-heat environments and back every repair with a written warranty. Whether it’s a minor tuckpointing job or a complete flue relining, we’ll give you an honest assessment and a fair price before we start any work.
Fireplace Cleaning
Your fireplace is the heart of the chimney system, and it needs its own attention. Our fireplace cleaning service removes ash, soot buildup, and debris from the firebox, smoke shelf, and damper area. We also clean glass fireplace doors, inspect the damper seal, and make sure your firebox is structurally sound. A clean fireplace burns more efficiently and looks better too.
We bought an older home in Calhan, CO, and the home inspector flagged some chimney concerns. We called Sootsense Chimney Services for a Level 2 chimney inspection before closing. They were thorough, used a camera to show us exactly what was going on inside the flue, and found a cracked liner that the previous inspector had missed. They did the chimney repair, and we were able to close with peace of mind.
